CALLS FOR PROJECTS
The Transportation Alternatives (TA) Set-Aside, formally known as Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP), call for projects (aka applications) is now open through the OK Dept. of Transportation website!
The Transportation Alternatives (TA) Set-Aside provides funding for a variety of transportation projects that prioritize safety, comfort, and connectivity to destinations for all users of our transportation networks, including pedestrians and cyclists.
Projects
include pedestrian and bicycle facilities; construction of turnouts, overlooks,
and viewing areas; community improvements such as historic preservation and
vegetation management; environmental mitigation related to stormwater and
habitat connectivity; recreational trails; safe routes to school projects; and
vulnerable road user safety assessments. The ODOT is seeking projects outside
of the Oklahoma City and Tulsa urbanized areas, and based on the 2020 census,
are divided into three categories: populations of up to 5,000; 5,001-50,000,
and 50,001-200,000.
You can find
the application packet, as well as the application link here: https://oklahoma.gov/odot/business-center/local-government-resource-center/transportation-alternatives-program-tap.html Applications follow a
two-step process: Complete and submit a Call for Projects Form (online
application) to ODOT by Sept. 30, 2022. ODOT will conduct a site
review and provide feedback to application sponsors. The final application
period is then Nov. 1-30, 2022. Award announcements will be at the April
2023 ODOT commission meeting.
